The Datil Pepper & 33 Peppers Island Style Datil Pepper Sauce

It is most widely held that the Datil Pepper was brought to St. Augustine by Minorcan settlers from the Mediterranean in the late 1700s. Until recently, this pepper has been grown almost exclusively in the St. Augustine, Florida area known as the First Coast.

33 Peppers was born in 2014 when an abundant crop of Datils became a staple in our test kitchen. We started to explore some "Old Florida Style" recipes and cooking methods combined with our culinary experience primarily from the coastal North Florida area. The result is what we and our friends and family agree to be one of the most versatile and delicious sauces most of us have tasted.
